Associate in Applied Science Degree
Students in this program will acquire skills in Microsoft® Office applications, medical terminology, insurance billing and coding, front office duties, and office procedures. A graduate of this program seeks employment as a secretary or administrative assistant in a medical environment.
In addition, students can earn a Medical Coding Specialist Certificate by meeting the requirements for a second major. A minimum of nine additional credits must be approved in advance by the Dean of Business.
The student/graduate will be able to:
Accurately key, format, and edit business documents.
Perform administrative office procedures in a medical/business setting.
Create a professional portfolio illustrating personal competency skills acquired in the Office Administration program.
1 Any mathematics course that is taken as part of the requirements in any Business Program must be taken concurrently with or prior to taking Accounting for Managers (ACCT 110) or Financial Accounting (ACCT 203).
