Technical Trades - Radiologic Technology (314C)

Associate in Applied Science Degree

This two-year program enables individuals who are currently enrolled in or have completed a certificate in a radiologic technology program to obtain the associate degree required to be eligible for the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) National Registry Examination. Once the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) National Registry Examination is passed, the individual can seek entry-level employment as a professional radiographer in radiology departments of hospitals, offices of private physicians, and other health care facilities using radiographic procedures.

Students must show evidence of successful completion of a JCERT accredited hospital-based radiography certificate program and be eligible for the ARRT National Registry Examination before the degree can be awarded.   Admission to a certificate in radiologic technology program is selective and requires application directly to the accredited hospital-based program.

Minimum - 60 credits

Note: Courses shown below in the first five semesters are required BC3 courses for the degree. Courses required for the Radiologic Technology Program Certificate will be scheduled over six semesters at the School of Radiography site.

Note: 33 college credits will be awarded for successful completion of a hospital-based certificate program that is accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiology Technology (JRCERT). Once a student has earned a certificate in radiologic technology, documentation in the form of an official transcript must be provided to the Registration Office before the 33 credits will be applied to the BC3 transcript.

The associate degree will be awarded following evidence of successful completion of the BC3 27 credits as indicated above and the 33 awarded credits applied to the transcript. Effective January 2013, an associate degree is required in order to complete the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) National Registry Examination.
