As part of a commitment to Financial Literacy, this branch is staffed with BC3 student interns who get hands-on experience working for the third largest credit union in Pennsylvania! Hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Amy Wise Children’s Creative Learning Center (CCLC)

The Amy Wise Children’s Creative Learning Center (CCLC), a Keystone STAR 4 facility, provides a safe and healthy environment for the children of BC3 students, faculty, staff and community. The CCLC is licensed as a preschool by the PA Department of Education and is licensed by the PA Department of Human Services for child care. The Center has a developmentally appropriate curriculum and serves as a lab school for various academic programs including Early Childhood Education at BC3. The CCLC’s outdoor space has been certified as a Nature Explore Outdoor Classroom, a national certification from the Arbor Day Foundation and Dimensions Education Research Foundation. The CCLC accepts preschool children 3 years (toilet trained) to five years of age. The CCLC staff consists of the Director, Assistant director, teachers, assistant group supervisors and work study students. Prices are reasonable and the atmosphere fosters creative learning experiences for the children.

BC3 Alerts

BC3 sends notifications about snow delays, cancellations and emergencies via the BC3 Alerts system. Anyone can sign up for BC3 Alerts at bc3.edu/alert to receive alerts via text message and/or email. Also, current students can sign up for Student Info Alerts to get important reminders about registration and payment dates.

Blackboard

Blackboard is the learning management system used for all credit online and hybrid courses, and used by many instructors as a supplement to on-campus courses. NOTE: All students taking an online/hybrid course are required to take the ET Orientation (GENL 001) prior to the start of their first online/hybrid course.

Business Learning Center (BLC)

The Business Learning Center (BLC) is located in the upper level of the Business and Health Professions Building. It is open during the semester from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. A member of the College staff is in the BLC during these hours. The goal of the Business Learning Center is to complement students’ educational experiences in the classroom with individualized, self-paced learning opportunities. Staff are present throughout the day to ensure that these learning opportunities are available. By providing a modern computer lab, open to all BC3 students, the BLC seeks to assure that students have access to apply information and practice skills acquired in the classroom. State-of-the-art computer hardware is available.

College Bookstore

The Bookstore is located on the second floor of the Student Success Center on main campus. Textbooks and educational supplies are sold, as well as clothing, food and gifts. Bookstore hours during the fall and spring semesters are 8:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Hours increase during rush and buyback periods. Students attending other BC3 locations can purchase books from the Bookstore online at bookstore.bc3.edu or by calling 724-284-8503.

Heaton Family Learning Commons

The Heaton Family Learning Commons provides materials, technology and space to support the curricular and recreational needs of BC3 students, employees and residents of Butler County. It houses the BC3 Library and Educational Technology Division. The Learning Commons has public computers, laptop bars, two multimedia classrooms, a one-button recording studio, and study spaces for individuals and small or large groups. Copiers, printers and a scanner are available. Hours for the fall and spring semesters are Monday through Thursday from 7:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

BC3 Library

Housed in the Heaton Family Learning Commons, BC3 Librarians provide individualized reference service and classroom instruction. In addition to its 40,000 volume print collection, the BC3 Library offers resources and services through its website at:  https://library.bc3.edu, including periodical databases, ebooks, and ejournals. Students can request research help through Chat and Ask a Librarian services.

Division of Educational Technology

The Division of Educational Technology oversees the training, development and execution of the College’s distance education (online, hybrid, and iTV) credit course offerings, video conferencing, and digital learning technologies. The One Button Studio and the BC3 Technology Help Desk are housed within the Division of Educational Technology to support the instructional technology needs of students and faculty.

The One Button Studio at BC3 is a user-friendly video recording studio that requires no prior video production training or experience. Students, faculty and staff can create high-quality and polished video projects with just a USB flash drive and the simple push of a button. The One Button Studio is located on the upper level of the Heaton Family Learning Commons.

The BC3 Technology Help Desk provides support for faculty and students in the use of the College’s technologies, such as the MyBC3 Portal, MyBC3 Email, Blackboard, and more. You can reach the BC3 Technology Help Desk by dialing ext. 8441 when at any BC3 location, or by submitting a FastForm ticket online. Walk-up assistance is available in the Heaton Family Learning Commons, upper level. Hours may vary. Please visit bc3.edu/services/technology for more information.

MyBC3 Portal & Student Email

The MyBC3 Portal is a “one stop shop” available to students to make payments, check financial aid, register for classes, drop/add classes, view schedules and grades along with other services. It also provides access to Blackboard and MyBC3 Email. To login to the MyBC3 Portal, visit bc3.edu and click on Current Students.

A student email account is provided to all BC3 credit students after admission to the College. The official student email address for BC3 includes the @my.bc3.edu domain extension. NOTE: All BC3-related correspondence between students and instructors is sent via @my.bc3.edu email.

Technology Independent Study Lab (TISL)

The TISL open computer lab has staff to assist students in a variety of technical areas including the Internet, email, CAD software, and other computer-related issues. The TISL has 22 thin line computers with 23” monitors and both color and black and white printers. The TISL is located in the Science and Technology Building, on the third floor, Room T316. Hours vary by semester.
