Program Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of the Practical Nursing Certificate Program, the graduate nurse will be able to:

1. demonstrate accountability, for actions related to standards of practice and legal, ethical, and regulatory guidelines. 
2. provide nursing interventions in a culturally sensitive and holistic manner to individuals across the lifespan.
3. employ the framework of therapeutic communication when interacting with clients across the lifespan
4. demonstrate critical thinking using clinical problem-solving process and evidence-based research to deliver safe nursing care across the lifespan
5. provide holistic health promotion strategies in partnership with the individual and community. 
6. demonstrate clinical competence to meet a client’s individualized plan of care. 
7. utilize information and technology to communicate data as part of nursing practice.
8. assumes the role of the practical nurse using the knowledge, preparation, experience, and competency to perform in practice
