Secondary Education - Social Studies Option, A.S.- Program Competencies

The student/graduate will be able to:

• Identify, analyze, and comprehend elements of historical cause and effect, recognize and distinguish patterns of change and continuity, to identify and distinguish how the past influences the lives of individuals and the development of societies throughout the development in American history and World History.  
• Demonstrate knowledge of social studies content while exhibiting awareness of cultural diversity and global and community dynamics in their role as citizen and educator. 
• Utilize research strategies, methods, and sources to obtain, organize, and interpret historical data.
