ARTS 110 - Sculpture

3 Credits: (2 lecture, 2 lab)

Course Description
This course is a comprehensive introduction to the principles of design as they are related to sculpture. Application of these topics will be explored along with their influence on and relationship to fine art, architecture, and interior design. The format of the class will include lecture and extensive studio work.

A. Identify and explain the various principles of design.

B. Define design perspectives and explain their cultural/historical significance.

C. Identify the elements of art that can be applied to other areas of study.

D. Participate in studio activities involved in the creation of sculpture.

E. Critique the strengths and weaknesses of his or her own work.

Student Evaluation
Evaluation will be based on projects, written assignments, and critiques.
