BUSN 119 - Microcomputer Keyboarding 1 Credits: (2 lab)
Course Description This course develops keyboarding speed and accuracy based on proper techniques.

Objectives The student will be able to:
A. Demonstrate the basic techniques of keyboarding: stroking, response patterns, and manipulative control.
B. Develop keyboarding speed with control and accuracy.
Content A. Keyboarding skills
Student Evaluation The final grade will be based on a combination of straight copy keyboarding skill, measured by skill building exercises and timed writings.
Timed writings = 85% of final grade. The timed writing grade is based on a verified speed and proper technique. A verified speed is one that has been attained at least three times. The basis for the timed writing speed will be five-minute straight copy writings. Five errors are allowed on a five-minute writing.
