COMP 245 - Web Page Design Tools 3 Credits: (3 lecture)
Course Description This course is designed to give students hands-on experience with software applications used to design, enhance and maintain web pages. Students will work with web page development at progressive levels of sophistication, including the beginning text-based; the intermediate graphics-based; and the advanced animation-enhanced levels. Students will work with multiple website development application and content management systems.
Note Fall semester only.
Prerequisite or Corequisite: COMP 235 or permission of instructor

A. Identify web page design tools to assist in web site development.
B. Utilize a web content management system (CMS).
C. Compare web development applications and CMS.
D. Identify standard tools between applications.
Content A. Text based web pages
B. Image editing fundamentals
C. Hyperlinks between existing documents of a project
D. Multiple uses of tables in web pages
E. Forms, frames, and anchors application in web pages
F. Image map creation, selection, and application
G. Animation and web page styles
H. Cascading style sheets in web page design
Student Evaluation The student’s final grade will be based on exams, assignments, and web page projects.
