NURS 101 - Nursing I: Introduction to Nursing Care

8 Credits: (4 lecture, 12 lab)

Course Description
This course introduces students to fundamental principles of nursing practice. The focus is on providing basic nursing care to individuals in a variety of health care settings. The student will learn basic skills and begin to practice nursing in a safe manner. Clinical experiences will be obtained in a simulated lab environment as well as in a variety of health care settings. This course meets the general education competency of Technologies Competency (TC).

Corequisite NURS 141, BIOL 131, PHED 125, and PSYC 201.

Objectives
The student will be able to:

Student Evaluation
Objectives A-J will be evaluated through quizzes, examinations, written assignments, comprehensive final examination, return demonstration, and clinical evaluation.
