METR 106 - Metrology Practicum 1 Credits: Work-Research Experience (minimum of 64 work hours per semester)
Course Description This work experience is designed to allow the student to grow professionally, to identify strengths and weaknesses, to apply learned theory to practical situations, and to gain an appreciation of the role, duties, responsibilities and nature of the work that has been chosen as a career.
Prerequisite 2.0 GPA and 24 credits completed in the Metrology Program.

Objectives The student will be able to:
A. Apply Metrology concepts in a professional setting.
B. Perform assigned work consistent with a supervisor’s expectations.
C. Develop a professional role in the metrology field.
Content The content of this practicum is developed after arriving at the employing agency and in consultation with the assigned instructor.
Student Evaluation Evaluation methods may include the daily journal of activities, the Supervisor’s Evaluation Report, an oral presentation, a poster presentation, and the final report.
