PHED 118 - Archery 1 Credits: (3 lab)
Course Description This course is designed to teach the student the basic knowledge of archery safety, shooting fundamentals, shooting styles, marksmanship, and sportsmanship. Equipment maintenance and selection will also be presented.

Objectives The student will be able to:
A. State the basic safety rules of the sport, including the description and justification of the whistle system.
B. Name the equipment.
C. Renock and Refletch an arrow.
D. Use the proper posture and shooting form with consistent anchor position and follow through.
E. Use proper warm-up and cool-down activities.
F. Show an improvement in shooting score for a 30-arrow round by either an increase in score at the original distance or by increasing distance and maintaining original score.
