ACCT 222 - Sage 50 Computerized Accounting 3 Credits: (3 lecture)
Course Description This course is designed to introduce the students to the Sage 50 accounting software program. A thorough understanding of basic accounting principles and practices is required. Emphasis is on the financial accounting cycle of business, the application of accounting principles, and the production and analysis of reports. The student must own or have convenient access to a computer with Windows on which he/she can install Sage 50.
Note Required: Online/hybrid students must have access to a PC/Windows based computer that can be used to download software required for the course.
Prerequisite COMP 210 or OADM 107 or permission of the instructor and either ACCT 110 or ACCT 203.

Objectives The student will be able to:
A. Analyze the major components of the accounting software package.
B. Record daily financial and payroll data using alternative techniques required by the accounting package.
C. Maintain prepared master files required by the accounting package under study.
D. Produce basic financial statements and fixed asset reports using the accounting package under study.
E. Move data into other applications using the clipboard, import, and export functions.
F. Detect errors for correction in the accounting records.
G. Solve researched accounting problems and technical questions.
