CHEM 101 - Chemistry I 4 Credits: (3 lecture, 3 lab)
Course Description This course introduces the concept of the atom and its structure, bonding theories, and chemical periodicity. Attention is given to chemical nomenclature and stoichiometric calculations. The behavior of solids, liquids, and gases is presented with an emphasis on problem-solving. This course is intended for students majoring in science, engineering, and related fields. This course meets the General Education competency of Scientific Reasoning (SR).
Prerequisite A grade of “C” or higher in CHEM 100 or in a high school chemistry course taken within the past five years Corequisite MATH 101
