COMP 215 - PC Management Techniques I 4 Credits: (3 lecture, 3 lab)
Course Description This course continues with computing skills and concepts that were learned in COMP 101. Special attention is given to Windows configuration and optimization, Random Access Memory (RAM) management, system trouble shooting, installing disk drives and installing system components.
Prerequisite COMP 101.

B. Configure internal and external personal computer hardware.
C. Identify tools, diagnostic procedures and troubleshooting techniques for desktop hardware components.
D. Install various Windows operating systems.
E. Identify tools, diagnostic procedures and troubleshooting techniques for Windows operating systems.
F. Perform hardware and software preventative maintenance techniques on personal computers.
G. Utilize hardware and software manuals to research topics.

Student Evaluation The final grade in the course will be based on a combination of at least three (3) major exams, project, quizzes, assignments and labs.
