ENGL 102 - Research Writing 3 Credits: (3 lecture)
Course Description The emphasis of this course is upon persuasion, evaluation, research and writing the research paper. There will be a continuation of careful editing of grammar and sentences. Students will continue the study and writing of thoughtful and organized expositions. This course meets the General Education competency of Critical Thinking (CT).
Prerequisite Completion of ENGL 101 with a grade of “C” or better is required.

Objectives The student will be able to
A. Evaluate a diverse collection of evidence related to a specific research question/thesis. (CT)

C. Compile a written, verbal, or visual response to the evidence that acknowledges alternative explanations and views. (CT)
D. Write research papers according to the most recent MLA or APA guidelines.
