FSVC 204 - Hospitality Management Practicum 4 Credits: (1 lecture, 11 work hours per week)
Course Description This course is designed to aid students in applying the skills necessary for success in the hospitality industry by providing actual supervised work experience in the Hospitality Industry under the guidance of a hospitality manager.
Prerequisite Completion of 45 hours in program and 15 hours in the major with a “C” average and/or permission of the instructor.

A. Participate in varied employee/management activities in the hospitality industry.
B. Integrate component parts of a hospitality facility through working and observation.
C. Recognize the current issues, problems, and future trends confronting the hospitality industry.
D. Describe how the legislative actions in Washington and the state capital affect the hospitality manager at the operational level.
E. Research employment opportunities in the hospitality industry.
F. Analyze the marketing and advertising programs currently driving the industry.
G. Explain laws and regulations related to the purchase and serving of alcoholic beverages.
H. Complete a career portfolio.

Student Evaluation Objectives A-H will be evaluated through completion of online course modules, employer evaluations, career portfolio, weekly work journal, and the completion of 165 hours of work.
