OADM 228 - Microsoft® PowerPoint 3 Credits: (3 lecture)
Course Description This course provides a comprehensive coverage of the use of Microsoft® PowerPoint software and its application in today’s business office environment. Numerous project-based activities will provide students with opportunities for extensive hands-on practice with creating and delivering presentations.
Note Fall semester only.
Corequisite OADM 107 or COMP 210.

Objectives The student will be able to:
A. Prepare Microsoft® PowerPoint presentations that include the use of sound effects and transitions.
B. Apply proper presentation formatting using objects, autoshapes, color, and text bullets.
C. Enhance slide presentations using WordArt, hyperlinks, clip art, animation, and special fonts.
D. Customize presentations using fill effects, custom color schemes, and graphical slide builds.
E. Integrate sound, video, animation, and scanned image files into presentations.
F. Integrate source data from different applications using the commands for object linking and embedding of files.
G. Use the browse, search, and hyperlink capabilities of the Web browsers.
H. Utilize audience, intent, and message (AIM) strategies to create presentations.
I. Deliver a comprehensive PowerPoint presentation using AIM strategies.

B. Tables, charts, hyperlinks, and buttons
C. Clip art, scanned images, animated GIFs, sound, and video
D. Custom color schemes, graphical slide builds, and animation
E. Audience, intent, and message strategies
Student Evaluation Objectives A through I will be assessed through textbook and simulation software assignments, application and written tests and/or quizzes, and a comprehensive final exam.
