PKMT 205 - Interpretive Methods & Programming 4 Credits: (3 lecture, 2 lab)
Course Description This course is designed to take the student through the process of developing, creating and presenting interpretive programs. The student will learn how to write lesson plans, operate audiovisual equipment, utilize digital presentation technology, design and construct bulletin boards, and develop an interpretive trail brochure.
Note Spring semester only. Field trips are required.

Objectives The student will be able to
A. Describe the planning process and apply it to a program for a specific visitor group.
B. Cite teaching methods used in personal or attended services.
C. Demonstrate teaching competency through the presentation of an interpretiveprogram.
D. Describe interpretive methods used in nonpersonal or unattended services and demonstrate competency through the development of a self-guided trail or interpretive publication.
E. Demonstrate proficient use of audiovisual equipment during a presentation.
F. Present a program using digital technology and presentation software.
G. Design and construct a bulletin board.
H. Participate in the Project Learning Tree training course.

Student Evaluation Evaluation will be based upon examinations, assignments, projects, attendance of field trips, and presentations.
