ENGL 031 - Reading, Writing, and Reasoning

Course Description
The course is designed for students requiring skill review/support for success in English 101. It is an integrated study of reading strategies and college-level composition skills.

Corequisite ENGL 101 with same instructor based on placement test scores.

Objectives
The students will be able to: 

A. Integrate a variety of reading strategies when analyzing texts.

B. Interpret texts critically.

C. Format a book review according to standardized academic models.

D. Use the vocabulary and diction of Standard American English in their writings.

E. Use the current handbook to eliminate errors in grammar and punctuation.

Student Evaluation
