GENL 203 - Presidential Scholars Seminar 1 Credits: (1 lecture)
Course Description The course introduces students to the scholarly community in a way that bridges to later experiences in their chosen majors and facilitates students’ adjustment to the high expectations, demanding workload, increased academic liberties and other aspects of college life. Students will grapple with multiple important questions regarding goals, values, and experiences.
Prerequisite Enrollment in the Presidential Scholars program.

Objectives The student will be able to:
A. Demonstrate critical thinking.
B. Practice effective college level skills in reading, writing, studying, and library research.
C. Explain personal values as guiding principles of their actions.
D. Demonstrate ethical conduct.
E. Evaluate how a person’s culture influences his/her view of the world.
F. Develop effective time management skills.
