BUSN 213 - Human Resource Management and Administrative Support Internship 3 Credits: (12 work hours per week)
Course Description This course provides students in the Human Resource Management and Administrative Support Program with real-world experience that will enable them to apply learned program competencies to practical situations. The instructor and immediate site supervisor cooperatively direct students on projects. Students will complete a minimum of 165 hours during the internship.
Note Students may be required by their internship employer to sign a confidentiality agreement and/or pass a criminal background check.
Prerequisite Completion of 45 credits in the program, including 18 credits in the major with a “C” average and instructor permission required.

Objectives The student will be able to:
A. Perform assigned functions as a member of a human resource management and administrative support team.
B. Demonstrate human resource and administrative support degree competencies through internship experience.
C. Utilize technology appropriate to the human resource and administrative support discipline.
D. Evaluate their knowledge and abilities within the human resource and administrative support environment.
Content A. Human resource management and administrative support assignments and projects beneficial in meeting both student’s and employer’s objectives.
B. Written internship report.
Student Evaluation Objectives A-D will be evaluated through online journal discussions, employer’s midterm and final evaluations, a career portfolio, and the completion of 165 hours of work.
