PTAP 101 - Seminar I

3 Credits: (3 lecture)

Course Description
This introductory course defines the roles of the Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) within the healthcare delivery system.  The structure and function of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and its jurisdiction-related related practice documents will be provided.  Roles and responsibilities of the various Physical Therapy and other health care team members, including interprofessional collaboration, will be examined.  Students will also receive instruction in medical documentation and the International Classification of Functioning, Disability, and Health.
