COMM 291 - Graphic Design Seminar3 Credits: (3 lecture)
Course Description In this course, students demonstrate their advanced skills by creating a comprehensive, multi-piece project. The semester is devoted to the production of a capstone project and the preparation of physical and digital portfolios. The approved topic is to be researched, verified, and visually represented through the students’ layouts.
Prerequisite COMM 111 and COMM 212, each with a minimum of a C grade.
Objectives The student will be able to:
A. Develop a major project for presentation.
B. Hone designer proficiency throughout the project preparation.
C. Present the project in a professional manner.
D. Write a research paper on the presentation topic.
E. Communicate the research topic visually.
F. Complete a physical portfolio containing 10-15 revised school projects, which may also contain freelance work and/or work completed during a practicum.
G. Complete a digital portfolio containing 10-20 revised school projects, which may also contain freelance work and/or work completed during a practicum.

C. Projects reviewed and revised for portfolios
D. Physical portfolio creation
E. Digital portfolio creation
Student Evaluation Evaluation will be based upon the capstone project, the capstone paper, the capstone presentation, and the portfolios.
