RADT 120 - Radiographic Physics and Imaging

3 Credits: 3 Lecture Hours Per Week

Course Description
This course introduces students to the fundamental physical principles of X-ray production and medical imaging. Topics include the nature and generation of X-rays, their interactions with matter, and the theoretical operation of basic X-ray imaging systems. Students will also explore various imaging modalities that employ X-rays, analyzing the impact of physics-related factors on image quality and diagnostic accuracy. Emphasis is placed on applying problem-solving skills to physics concepts in preparation for the Radiologic Technologist Registration examination.

Prerequisite BIOL 132, COMP 210, RADT 111 Corequisite RADT 112
