CIVL 217 - Civil Drafting I


3 credits (2 lecture, 2 lab)
This course is the study and application of traditional and computer-aided design and drafting (CADD) principles and practices used in the field of civil drafting to prepare maps, construction documents, and structural details. Topics include basic to advanced concepts and techniques such as leveling, longitude and latitude, map scales, symbols, direction, legal descriptions, plot plans, contours, profiles, highway layout, and earth cut-and-fills. The course is designed to give the student exposure to the many aspects of civil drafting and their applications in industry.

           

    

 
Prerequisite(s): DRFT 120 or permission of instructor
