Computer Information Systems - Network Administration (303E)
Associate in Applied Science Degree

The Network Administration Option is intended to prepare  individuals to install, configure, and support an organization’s network. The program covers knowledge and skills in computer information systems, operating systems and applications, network systems, and security. Graduates of this program may seek employment as an entry-level Network Administrator and related professions. Employees in such positions would maintain network hardware and software, monitor a network to ensure network availability, perform necessary maintenance, and plan, coordinate, and implement network security measures. They may also supervise computer and network support specialists.

Program Competencies 

The student/graduate will be able to:

  • Illustrate essential computer skills in managing, maintaining, troubleshooting, installing, and configuring basic network infrastructure.
  • Illustrate essential computer skills in system security, network infrastructure, access control, and organizational security.
  • Illustrate essential computer skills in managing, maintaining, troubleshooting, installing, and configuring network operating systems.

Note(s):


1 Productivity Applications (COMP 210) or successful completion of exemption test is the prerequisite for COMP 242.

2 Productivity Applications (COMP 210) cannot be used as the computer elective.

3 The Mathematics elective must be MATH 100 or above.
