Certificate of Achievement

This certificate prepares students for entry-level positions in business and accounting. Students will be introduced to financial record keeping, issues in business law, and the use of microcomputers in an accounting environment. A graduate of this program seeks employment as a bookkeeper, an accounting assistant, or a general office worker.

NOTE: Courses listed in the first/third semester will be scheduled for the fall; courses listed in the second/fourth semester will be scheduled for the spring. Students are encouraged to use the curriculum planner to keep track of courses taken and those still needed. In some cases, one or more courses may be taken in a different order than indicated on the planner. However, individual course prerequisites must be observed.

Prerequisites/Corequisites: Some courses require another course to be taken beforehand or at the same time. To check if a course has a prerequisite or corequisite, see the course description.

Note(s):


1 Students advancing on to an Associate Degree are encouraged to take College Writing (ENGL 101).

2 Any mathematics course taken as a part of the requirements in any Business Program must be taken concurrently with or prior to Accounting for Managers (ACCT 110) or Financial Accounting (ACCT 203).
