Child Development and Family Studies (271)
Associate in Applied Science Degree

The Child Development and Family Studies program is designed to prepare students for careers as a day care provider, a group supervisor or teacher in day care and preschool settings; or a paraprofessional or teaching assistant in public and private schools. Students who wish to continue with their education through a bachelor’s degree or graduate studies often seek careers as child life specialists, caseworkers, school psychologists, family therapists, and residential home counselors. Since four-year colleges and universities determine which courses are acceptable in transfer, it is essential for all students to contact their chosen transfer institutions to verify course acceptance.

Minimum - 60/61 credits

Fourth Semester (15)

Note(s):

1 The Natural Science Elective must be a course that includes a lab.

2 Indicates courses that require observation hours and clearances.
