Computer Information Systems - Programming Specialist (303B)
Associate in Applied Science Degree

This program provides training in the theory and practices of computer information systems with emphasis on top-down and object-oriented program design principles. Students will learn to program in procedural languages, object-oriented languages, and visual languages. A graduate of this program seeks employment as Programmer, Maintenance Programmer, Programmer/Analyst, System Analyst, Software Engineer, Quality Assurance Software Specialist, or Application Developer.

NOTE: Courses listed in the first/third semester will be scheduled for the fall; second/fourth semester courses will be scheduled for the spring. The student is encouraged to use the curriculum planner to keep track of courses taken and those still needed. In some cases, one or more courses may be taken in a different order than indicated on the planner. However, individual course prerequisites must be observed.

1 The Mathematics elective must be MATH 100 or above.
2 Introduction to Microcomputing (COMP 210) or successful completion of exemption test is the prerequisite for COMP 242.
3 Computer elective requirement must be satisfied by completing either a 4 credit computer elective or a combination of computer electives that total 4 credits or more.
