Associate in Arts Degree

The Communications major is suggested for students intending to transfer to four-year institutions to complete Bachelor’s Degrees in Communications.  Each four-year college or university determines which BC3 courses are acceptable in transfer. Students should contact the institution for assurance prior to registering for the course at BC3.

Program Competencies 

The student/graduate will be able to:

  • Employ organizational delivery and research skills in the development and presentation of a persuasive speech.
  • Apply communication models to explain communication terminology and concepts.
  • Write a press release.
  • Create a portfolio with a minimum of three new stories, including one required broadcast-style story.
