4 credits (1 lecture hour for 16 weeks, 165 work hours) Students enrolled in the Medical Coding Specialist Certificate program will apply coding/billing principles in a health care setting. Students will gain experience in ICD-9-CM and CPT coding systems, insurance billing and other related activities. Prerequisite(s): Completion of 32 credits in the program with at least a C average and/or consent of professor.
