CIVL 217 - Civil Drafting I 2 credits (1 lecture, 2 lab) This course is the study and use of conventional symbols and drafting techniques for preparing manual and computer generated construction documents and structural details for various types of topographic, chorographic, general and special purpose maps. Topics include basic concepts and techniques such as leveling, longitude and latitude, map scales, symbols, direction, legal descriptions, plot plans, contours, profiles, and highway cut and fills. The course is designed to give the student exposure to the many aspects of civil drafting and their applications in industry. Corerequisite(s): DRFT 220 Prerequisite(s): DRFT 101 or ARCH 104 or permission of instructor.
