Engineering, A.S.


The program provides a solid basic background for transfer to a four-year college in various areas of engineering including Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, Electrical, Sanitary, Forestry, etc. Recommended courses parallel the first two years of engineering curriculum at four-year colleges. See Nanofabrication Technology Specialization  for a fifth semester.

a Recommended Technical Electives include Linear Algebra, Organic Chemistry, Surveying I, C++ Object-Oriented Programming, Computer Aided Drafting, 3-D Modeling, and Electronics I. Students interested in special areas of Engineering such as Chemical and Sanitary Engineering should take Organic Chemistry during the sophomore year.

Courses other than those recommended can only be considered Technical Electives if they are approved as such by the Dean of Natural Sciences and Technology.
