Technical Trades: HVAC Option, A.A.S.

This program prepares students for careers in the Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning industry. The curriculum enables students to gain hands-on experience while being offered theoretical instruction to enter the HVAC industry. The program focuses on the installation and diagnosis of electro-mechanical and HVAC systems. A graduate of this program seeks employment as a HVAC installer, mechanic, service technician, sheet metal worker, electrician and pipe fitter.

** The National Occupational Competency Testing Institute (NOCTI) provides 3-6 hour testing that give students the opportunity to pass assIs ssment of competencies in the field of study. The Industrial Competency Exam (ICE) provides 2-hour tests that give students the opportunity to pass assessment of competencies in the field of study. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is a 100-question, 2-hour examination that, if passed, will allow the student to use, purchase and transport refrigerant. Every HVAC technician must at a minimum successfully attain one of three EPA certifications to work in the field.
