English (107)
Associate in Arts Degree

The degree in English is designed as an Associate in Arts transfer program. Its purpose is to provide the English major with a strong background in English, specifically, and the Liberal Arts, generally. It may also be selected by the student to build a foundation for a career in law, the ministry, drama, journalism, or to obtain a strong English background for the baccalaureate degree. Each four-year college or university determines which BC3 courses are acceptable in transfer. Students should contact the institution for assurance prior to registering for the course at BC3.

NOTE: Courses listed in the first/third semester will be scheduled in the fall; second/forth semester courses will be scheduled in the spring. The student is encouraged to use the curriculum planner to keep track of courses taken and those still needed. In some cases, one or more courses may be taken in a different order than indicated on the planner. However, individual course prerequisites must be observed.

Prerequisites/Corequisites – Some courses require another course be taken beforehand or at the same time. To check if a course has a prerequisite or corequisite, see the course description.
