Associate in Applied Science Degree
This program is designed to prepare students for interesting and challenging positions in law offices, legal departments of corporations, and governmental agencies. Students are given a background in business subjects and legal terminology with an emphasis on skill training in keyboarding, computer use, applications software, and office procedures. Students are also introduced to a course in criminology. A graduate of this program seeks employment as a Legal Office Assistant, Receptionist, Research Assistant, and Office Manager.
NOTE: Courses listed in the first/third semester will be scheduled for the fall; second/fourth semester courses will be scheduled for the spring. The student is encouraged to use the curriculum planner to keep track of courses taken and those still needed. In some cases, one or more courses may be taken in a different order than indicated on the planner. However, individual course prerequisites must be observed.
