Computer Information Systems - Network Administration (303E)
Associate in Applied Science Degree

The Network Administration Option prepares individuals to install, configure, and support an organization’s network. The program covers knowledge and skills in computer information systems, operating systems and applications, network systems, and security. Graduates of this program may seek employment as an entry-level Network Administrator and related professions. Employees in such positions would maintain network hardware and software, monitor a network ensure network availability, perform necessary maintenance, and plan, coordinate, and implement network security measures. They may also supervise computer and network support specialists.

NOTE: Courses listed in the first/third semester will be scheduled for the fall; second/fourth semester courses will be scheduled for the spring. The student is encouraged to use the curriculum planner to keep track of courses taken and those still needed. In some cases, one or more courses may be taken in a different order than indicated on the planner. However, individual course prerequisites must be observed.

1 Introduction to Microcomputing (COMP 210) or successful completion of exemption test is the prerequisite for COMP 242.

2 Introduction to Microcomputing (COMP 210) cannot be used as the computer elective.

3 The Mathematics elective must be MATH 100 or above.
