Electronics Technology (305)
Associate in Applied Science Degree

This program provides the student with a comprehensive background in electronics technology. The program provides the student with a general background in electronic device and circuit operation, along with extensive training in the operation and use of modern electronic test equipment. Digital  and analog circuit simulation and design using state-of-the-art software and hardware is presented, as well as hands-on construction and troubleshooting techniques. Typical opportunities for graduates include employment as engineering technicians, field engineers, bench technicians, telecommunications equipment installers and repairers, and engineering assistants.

NOTE: Courses listed in the first/third semester will be scheduled for the fall; second/fourth semester courses will be scheduled for the spring. The student is encouraged to use the curriculum planner to keep track of courses taken and those still needed. In some cases, one or more courses may be taken in a different order than indicated on the planner. However, individual course prerequisites must be observed.

Note(s):


1 Calculus I and II (MATH 221, MATH 222) OR College Algebra (MATH 101) and Trigonometry and Functions (MATH 102) OR Elementary Functions (MATH 108) and Calculus I (MATH 221) may be substituted for Technical Mathematics I and II (MATH 117, MATH 118).

2 Engineering Physics I or II (PHYS 221, PHYS 222) may be substituted for Physics I and II (PHYS 101, PHYS 102).

3 Part-time students may take DC Circuits (ELEC 101) and AC Circuits (ELEC 102) in place of Electrical Fundamentals (ELEC 110).

4 Dean must approve choice of Technical elective.
