Associate in Applied Science Degree
Students in this program will acquire skills in Microsoft Office applications, medical terminology, insurance billing and coding, front office duties, and office procedures. A graduate of this program seeks employment as a secretary or administrative assistant in a medical environment.
In addition, students can earn a Medical Coding Specialist Certificate by meeting the requirements for a second major. A minimum of nine additional credits must be approved in advance by the Dean of Business.
Program Competencies
The student/graduate will be able to:
• Accurately key, format, and edit business documents.
• Perform administrative office procedures in a medical/business setting.
• Create a professional portfolio illustrating personal competency skills acquired in the Office Administration program.
• Demonstrate word processing proficiency.
