CNC Programming Technology (040)
Certificate of Achievement

This program provides the foundational technical state-of-the-art skills needed for computer numerical control (CNC) programming. Applied mathematics, CNC programming, problem solving, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) skills are acquired. The core courses will transfer into the Computer Aided Machining Technology Associate degree program. This program will provide CNC advancement opportunities and job opportunities as a CNC machinist, CNC programmer, or CNC service representative.  Note: This curriculum takes four semesters to complete.

NOTE: Courses listed in the first/third semester will be scheduled for the fall; second/fourth semester courses will be scheduled for the spring. The student is encouraged to use the curriculum planner to keep track of courses taken and those still needed. In some cases, one or more courses may be taken in a different order than indicated on the planner. However, individual course prerequisites must be observed.  Note: This curriculum takes four semesters to complete.

Students advancing on to an associate degree are encouraged to take Technical Math I (MATH 117).

Students advancing on to an associate degree are encouraged to take Technical Drawing with AutoCAD (DRFT 120).

Students advancing on to an associate degree are encouraged to take English I (ENGL 101).

Program advisor must approve choice of elective from the areas of computer programming, electronics, drafting, metrology, or manufacturing.
