Emergency Services - Police Services Option (265A)
Associate in Applied Science Degree

The Police Services Option under Emergency Services leads to an AAS Degree. Students will receive Act 120 Certification off campus as well as criminology courses at the college. They will be employable as police patrol officers; security guards; detectives and investigators; correction officers and jailers; and criminal investigators.

NOTE: Courses listed in the first/third semester will be scheduled for the fall; second/fourth semester courses will be scheduled for the spring. The student is encouraged to use the curriculum planner to keep track of courses taken and those still needed. In some cases, one or more courses may be taken in a different order than indicated on the planner. However, individual course prerequisites must be observed.

1 The Math elective must be taken from the listing in Group III.

2 Students will receive fifteen credit hours for completion of approved ACT 120 Certification. Criteria for the acceptance of such training may be obtained from the Director of Records and Registration or from the Dean for Humanities and Social Sciences. Depending on availability and location of ACT 120 Certification, the student may opt to take sooner than fourth semester.
